The Fisher 65 outboard boat electric motor is designed for installation on inflatable, plastic and aluminum boats, as well as water bikes with a maximum permissible gross weight of up to 1300 kg and a vessel length of no more than 6 meters. It is used as the main engine, as well as an auxiliary or trolling engine. The entire Fisher model range is characterized by high efficiency. To go out on the water, it is enough to charge the battery, which is much cheaper than using gasoline fuel. It works almost silently, which creates comfortable conditions for fishing and recreation on the water, allowing you to enjoy nature and silence.
Appointment
The Fisher is designed for a variety of purposes: trolling, main boat movement, and maneuvering in winding rivers or areas with many obstacles. It is suitable for installation on boats with a transom height of 381 or 508 mm, a length of up to 6 meters and a gross weight of up to 1300 kg.
The electric motor is suitable for the following types of vessels:
- Inflatable PVC boats;
- Plastic and aluminum boats with rigid hulls;
- Water bikes.
It is resistant to corrosion and designed for long-term use in both fresh and salt water, making it versatile and durable.
Advantages
This model has a number of significant advantages that have made it popular among owners of small vessels. Firstly, it is a relatively low cost with high quality workmanship. Strong and durable materials are used in the production - cast aluminum, impact-resistant ABS plastic, composite fiberglass, reinforced nylon and other modern materials that guarantee the reliability and resistance of the device to mechanical damage and environmental influences.
The control is as convenient as possible thanks to the telescopic tiller, which allows you to easily adjust the direction of movement and shift gears, as well as the compact weight of the device. The motor has a reverse function, which greatly facilitates maneuvering on the water.
Particular attention has been paid to environmental friendliness - it operates silently and does not emit harmful emissions into the atmosphere, which contributes to the preservation of clean air and natural acoustics of the environment. The built-in battery charge indicator allows you to monitor the battery charge without using additional devices.
In terms of economy, it also outperforms gasoline engines. Operating at maximum power requires approximately 3 kWh of electricity, which provides more than two hours of continuous operation and significantly reduces operating costs.
The Fischer brush electric motor, housed in a corrosion-resistant cast aluminum housing, provides reliability, simplicity of design and relatively low cost. The propeller is mounted directly on the shaft without intermediate parts - a gearbox or additional bearings. This design reduces the likelihood of breakdowns and simplifies maintenance.
The aluminum motor housing effectively dissipates heat, preventing overheating even during prolonged operation at maximum power.
Main unit design
The control electronics are housed in the main unit, protected by a durable plastic housing that is resistant to ultraviolet, vibration and moisture. The housing material does not lose strength over time, does not crack and retains its aesthetic appearance thanks to its glossy black surface and streamlined shape.
Tiller and controls
The telescopic tiller is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic and extends 12 cm for comfortable control. Its length varies from 18 to 30 cm. Turning the tiller left and right changes the direction of the boat, and rotating it around its axis switches gears - five forward speeds and three reverse, with a "Zero" position to stop the engine.
Gear shifting is accompanied by a clear click, which allows you to control the shift not only visually, but also audibly.
Stand and position adjustment
The stand is a tube made of strong but lightweight fiberglass composite, inside which the motor power wires pass. The stand material withstands both static and dynamic loads during boat movement.
Using the clamp on the stand, you can change the position of the propeller - raise it for shallow water or lower it for normal operation. Adjustment is made using a sheep screw, which fixes the stand in the desired position.
Boat mounting block
Fastening to the boat is carried out using two transom clamps with reinforced nylon frames and steel screws with convenient lamb handles. During installation, it is necessary to fix the clamps to the transom and tighten the screws tightly.
Between the clamps is a rack locking mechanism that allows the Fisher 65 motor to be locked in vertical, horizontal, and eight intermediate positions in 10° increments. This allows it to be lifted out of the water for cleaning the propeller from algae or for installation in shallow water mode.
Features of operation and recommendations
The design is simple and reliable, installation and maintenance are not difficult, but there are important points to consider:
- It is not recommended to connect a boat motor to regular car batteries to avoid the risk of acid leakage.
- A 150 Ah traction battery weighs about 44 kg, which requires careful planning of boat loading and ease of transportation.
- Deep discharge of the battery is strictly prohibited, which significantly shortens its service life.
- The propeller rotation frequency does not allow the boat to plan; movement always occurs in the water radiation mode.
Technical specifications
The Fisher 65 runs on an AGM or gel traction battery with a voltage of 12 and a capacity of 150 A·h. At fifth speed, the indicators are as follows:
- Current strength - 67 A;
- Power - 804 W;
- Screw rotation speed - 1250 rpm;
- Traction force - 65 lbs (approximately 30 kg).
The height is 123 cm and the weight is only 9 kg, which allows you to conveniently carry it by hand or transport it in the trunk of a car. The length of the cable for connecting to the battery is 1.25 meters.
Propeller
The engine is equipped with a 10.25" diameter propeller made of durable plastic. The propeller is installed using a key, washer and nut, which are included in the delivery package. The package also includes a wrench for easy installation.
The plastic propeller has double protection: in case of light collisions it absorbs the impact, reducing the load on the shaft, and in case of strong impacts the blades break first, protecting the engine from serious damage. Replacing the propeller is cheaper than repairing the engine.
Battery charge indicator
AGM and gel batteries are very sensitive to deep discharge, which shortens the battery's service life. To avoid damage, a backlit charge indicator is installed on the top panel of the main unit.
Green LEDs indicate a normal charge level of the electric motor, while red ones signal a critical voltage drop. If the last green LED goes out, further operation without charging the battery is impossible.
Equipment
The motor is delivered in a sturdy cardboard box with foam inserts to protect against impacts and displacement during transportation. The set also includes a propeller with an installation kit (wrench, nut, washer, key) and operating instructions.
